Multi-benefit projects unlock our collective power and capacity for transformative solutions.
Our Coalition aims to lead the way in developing a new approach to infrastructure development in LA County, one that ensures the benefits of public investments are prioritized for frontline communities.
-
Community Engagement
Engaging communities directly affected by infrastructure projects is a key element of our approach. The Coalition fosters democratic participation and equity by advocating for decision-making to be placed in the hands of the community and bridging the divide between community and governance.
-
Workforce Programs
Multi-benefit projects drive job creation in the field of green infrastructure. The Coalition is committed to ensuring that pooled resources from the measures and other applicable sources can and should be leveraged to pay for job training and incentives to drive recruitment, especially focused on local community colleges and high schools. Hiring from low-income communities is a priority for multi-benefit projects.
-
Technical Assistance
The Coalition is urging the county to develop a portal for technical assistance to serve as a centralized “Help Desk” for community groups, nonprofits, and agencies as projects go through the design and development process. The portal should be designed to connect interested parties with the right staff in LA County or Metro departments and will provide access to relevant LA County or Metro resources. The portal will also connect community organizations and nonprofits with other groups working on similar projects, to accelerate collaboration and expand the multi-benefit scope of projects.
While this portal is in development, we encourage people who are working on an infrastructure project to submit their information to us using the Get Involved form and contact us at info@infrastructurejusticela.org so we can start doing the work of connecting people and projects.
